FDIC and OCC Host Building Financial Capacity Through VITA in Kansas City, MO and Kansas

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) are co-hosting a virtual event focused on building financial capacity by increasing awareness of Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and AARP volunteer and partnership opportunities that support low- and moderate-income (LMI) households and small businesses. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will highlight opportunities for banks, community-based organizations (CBO), and volunteers to support VITA sites. In addition, the IRS will discuss how banks or community organizations can become a VITA site. University of Missouri - Kansas City, United Way, and AARP will highlight their resources and provide volunteer and investment opportunities for banks and CBOs.
